Community rooms

The Community Rooms are in a two-storey extension built to the south side of the Church in 1994. The Bishop of Ely and his wife opened The Community Rooms in a special service of dedication.

There is a bright and airy entrance area to the Church, to the Community Rooms and to the Parish Office. In this area there is a centennial anniversary tapestry made by parishioners in 1996.

The Community Rooms provide a series of flexible spaces that can be used for a variety of uses. Loose and fixed furniture and equipment is available to suit different functional needs.

Ground floor: St John's Centre

This room can be used as a single meeting or activity room. In Lecture Format it has a capacity of around 130 seats. There is an acoustic room divider that can be used to separate the space into two smaller areas. Adjoining one end is the kitchen and toilet facilities, including baby-changing facilities. The kitchen is not licensed for cooking however.

First floor: The Gray and Cavendish rooms

Two smaller meeting rooms are located on the first floor.

The Gray Room is suitable for smaller group meeting of up to around 20 persons in a board-room style layout, but can also take up to 24 persons in a small lecture format. The Cavendish Room is also suitable for smaller group meetings and can take up to 14 persons in a board-room style layout.

There is a single toilet and a small kitchenette for preparing drinks.
